Program Highlights

Kufor Ni'ameh Library

In partnership with the Municipal Council and the Children Club, The library was launched in 2009. In Kufor Ni’ameh they created a program, which is the first of its kind in Palestine, called “My Father Reads to Me.”  They wanted to get the parents involved in the library so that the children would be more inclined to come.  The first person to read was the village mayor, followed on a regular basis by other fathers in the village.

  • Check-out books
  • Story-telling

When the village council decided to move the library to a more spacious, better lit room, it didn’t realize the room would fill up with even more children! The tables and chairs are filled to their maximum capacity. The room is great, but it needs more furniture and decorations to make it more exciting for the children.

With the library in its new location, it needs:

  •  Additional tables and chairs
  • A few computers and a printer
  • Rug, curtains and posters

New Space, More Room

The library in Kufor Ni’ameh created a program which is the first of its kind in Palestine, called "My Father Reads to Me." They wanted to get the parents involved in the library so that the children would be more inclined to come. The first person to read was the village mayor, followed on a regular basis by other father s in the village. The program is a hit and will hopefully be replicated in our other libraries.
