Keep the light alive -An appeal at the end of 2025, for 2026

YOU are invited to be part of Seraj’s work in Palestine
When we speak about Seraj, we always begin with this simple truth. Our work does not end the occupation. It does not stop the bombs or rebuild the homes. What we do is quieter… but it is what keeps people alive on the inside. It gives them back the right to dream.
All across Palestine, children and families are carrying fear, grief, and exhaustion. Yet they still walk through the doors of our libraries… through checkpoints, past demolished homes, along streets heavy with memory and lined with fear. They come for stories, for community, for a moment where life feels possible again.
They come because something in them still reaches toward light. Seraj is that light. Thirteen libraries in villages, cities, and refugee camps. A storytelling center where women learn to lift their voices. A cultural arts program where beauty becomes a way to survive. These are not just programs. They are lifelines. They are infrastructure of the soul.
As we look toward 2026, YOU are invited to stand with us. Your gift keeps these places open. It tells children and families that they are not forgotten, that their stories matter, that the world has not turned away from them. It is a way of saying, we see you, we honor your courage, we believe in your right to beauty and belonging. And above all, it says we stand with you. |

The need is not going away Palestinian communities are facing trauma that does not pause for news cycles or political dealings. The need is daily. The heartbreak is felt by the minute. And yet, so is the determination to live and hold on to joy wherever it can still be found.
This year, our partners and friends in the United States brought people together for A Taste of Palestine: The Streets Tell Stories, a beautiful event that raised more than $100,000. We are deeply grateful. That support carried hope straight into our libraries and programs on the ground.
But the work ahead is bigger than this. Seraj hopes to raise $260,000 to send to Palestine in 2026. These funds keep our libraries open, strengthen our storytelling programs, expand our cultural arts work, and support the communities who have come to depend on them. No matter what is happening politically, people still need spaces where they can breathe, remember who they are, and imagine a better future. And sustaining these spaces is not guaranteed. Their ability to remain open depends directly on the support we receive.
Even in the most difficult moments, Seraj continues to create. New programs, new approaches, innovative ways of meeting the needs of children and families who not only refuse to give up on life, but believe that their stories will continue to rise… that to speak is to live. YOU are invited to be part of this continued courage. YOU are invited you to stand with the people of Palestine in a way that brings not only comfort, but hope and possibility. |

Your part in this work
For those of you who have given before, and for those who have visited our libraries in Palestine, you already know this - the impact of your generosity is immediate and direct. You have seen how a simple room filled with books can become a refuge, how a storytelling session can shift the energy of an entire community, how beauty and safety can change the way a child carries herself. You know what it means for people to have a place outside the home where they can breathe, gather, and feel human again.
And for those of you who are joining us for the first time, we want you to know that your gift reaches people in ways that matter. It keeps our libraries open. It strengthens our storytelling academy. It supports our cultural arts programs that bring life, color, and possibility to communities that the world too often overlooks. Every contribution, no matter the size, carries a message that our communities feel deeply. It tells them they are seen. It tells them they matter. It tells them they are not forgotten.
As we look toward 2026, we hope you will walk with us. Nearly all that you give goes directly to this work in Palestine… to the libraries and programs that so many children and families have come to depend on.
Thank you for standing with us… and for standing with the people of Palestine. |
